Over the last few months, Rick has been travelling back and forth to Poland to oversee the construction of the building. With the help of many friends who have generously volunteered their time and their skills, the building was painted. A temporary roof was also established over the reception area and the upstairs apartment. This will be in place until the main metal roof is completed by professional builders. These workmen will also install the necessary chimney and venting to fulfil all the Polish legal requirements.
Our friends from Vermont have also completed the wood framing for many of the internal walls. Others have been involved with insulation and dry walling particularly in the exhibition area.
While this has been going on, Dafna and two other ladies were putting finishing touches to the 150 stones that make up the seven crucifixion panels.
Rick will be heading back to Poland this month in the hope of purchasing a welder. It is his desire to start work on the bronze figures and six of the ten pieces are already in Rick’s work studio in Poland, waiting to be fitted together. He has already located a welding machine that he wants to purchase, and will set it up in the studio.
Yes, rapid progress is being made.
